Finalists are ranked according to votes received by retirement plan advisors. NAPA's list included Sentinel's Jerry Cicalese for 2021-2024; Sentinel's Eric Grzejka 2022-2024, and Sentinel's Dennis Davis for 2024.
PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year in the Mentorship Category criteria: Finalists and winners in this category stand out for their commitment and success in supporting the personal and professional growth of their firm’s staff, their fellow advisers and their industry peers. PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers criteria: The “PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers” list is compiled from responses to the PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser Survey. The list is drawn solely from a set of quantitative variables and information in the survey supplied by the advisers themselves. For an adviser to be eligible for recognition in this year’s Top 100, he had to submit a completed entry to our 2019 Retirement Plan Adviser Survey, which was fielded this past September. A sub-segment of the questions was used to determine eligibility for the Top 100. PLANADVISER's list included Sentinel Pension Advisors, Inc.'s Ryan Campagna for 2020.
PLANSPONSOR Defined Contribution (DC) Survey criteria: The annual PLANSPONSOR Defined Contribution (DC) Survey compiles feedback from Plan Sponsor clients to measure and evaluate the performance and satisfaction levels of 401(k) and other DC providers. The 2022 PLANSPONSOR Defined Contribution Survey was conducted from August through October 2022, using the Qualtrics survey platform. Sponsors were asked to report specifics about their DC plan/s. The data, from approximately 2,830 respondents, represent 50 industries. Additionally, data was segmented by respondent profile to further magnify differences in asset range, industry and offerings across plan types and sizes. In 2022, Sentinel Group received 12 'Best in Class' awards in PLANSPONSOR Magazine's 2022 Defined Contribution Survey in the $5MM-$25MM plan asset category. PLANSPONSOR Recordkeeping Survey criteria: The Recordkeeping Survey is compiled from self-reported data submitted by record-keepers of defined contribution (DC) plans. PLANSPONSOR's list included Sentinel Group in 2021.
PLANSPONSOR Service Star criteria: The PLANSPONSOR Service Star Awards program recognizes the retirement plan account representatives and relationship managers who, in the words of their plan sponsor clients, have demonstrated exemplary service. Plan sponsors responding to the 2022 PLANSPONSOR Defined Contribution (DC) Survey singled out their recordkeeper representatives by name and gave specific examples of why they were nominating them. The PLANSPONSOR Strategy and Operations group reviewed the 152 nominations and plan sponsor comments before selecting three individuals and six teams. Service Stars are chosen for excellence in a range of service areas. Sentinel's Frank Pepe III was recognized in 2023. Sentinel paid a fee to use the logo after winning this award.
